We are so excited to announce our school’s participation in One School, One Book!
One School, One Book is a program that encourages our entire school to read one book together over a 2 week period.
This program will promote literacy and help show your child the joys of reading.
Starting March 24, each class, PK- 5th grade will be reading the book The Trouble with Chickens by Doreen Cronin. The classes will spend a few minutes discussing some vocabulary words from the reading and answering some discussion questions about the book.
You can join in the fun, too! If you want to join us by reading at home, the schedule below outlines 10 reading nights, 1-3 short chapters each night. This is about a 10-minute commitment for families each night. (Rereading the chapter at home helps with comprehension and provides more conversation opportunities. Please don’t read ahead though- part of the fun is arriving at the end together to uncover the mysteries and secrets from the end of the book!)
You can easily order your own copy of the book on Amazon for about $7.00.
